A few days ago, it seemed like the San Diego Padres had no interest at all in veteran 2nd baseman Mark Loretta, but in an article posted this morning by Union Tribune's Tom Krasovic, Loretta may be back on the Padres radar.
Padres' GM Kevin Towers is shopping for a stopgap 2nd baseman until young prospect Matt Antonelli is ready. "We don't want to block Antonelli for 2 years" said Towers. They are also interested in free agent Taduhito Iguchi as a possibility.
