In a blog posted today by Tom Krasovic of the San Diego Union Tribune, Mark Loretta would like to return to San Diego, but the Padres seem to have little interest in bringing him back. Opting to fill the position in house with young prospect Matt Antonelli. Said Loretta "I'd certainly be interested in the Padres, but I'm not going to chase them like I did last year."
Loretta has been offered arbitration by the Houston Astros, but their starting job was filled when they signed Kaz Matsui. That could leave the door open for Mark to sign with Colorado, but the Rockies may also fill that job internally.
