Can we please get the straight story on this one? The Kansas City Star is reporting that the talks between the Royals and Jose Guillen have stalled, prompting the Royals to take a harder look at Andruw Jones.
While I commend the Royals for finally trying to put a contender on the field, I don't know how they're going to meet the 5-year $90M that Jones' agent Scott Boras is asking.

Ken Rosenthal is reporting that the Royals and Guillen are closing in on a deal, supposedly a 3-year $11M - $12M deal.
Strange, just over 2 hours ago, it seemed like the Royals had broken off talks and were looking at other options.

According to Dick Kaegel of MLB.com, the Royals have apparently cooled on the idea of signing Jose Guillen. Royals' GM Dayton Moore says he's "intrigued by other possibilities", meaning the Royals may not sign Guillen after all.

The Kansas City Royals don't see another outfield option better than Jose Guillen, unless the price for Andruw Jones drops dramatically.
According to the Kansas City Star, the Royals plan to go hard after Guillen, and the free agent told the media in the Dominican Republic that he could reach a deal soon, which could mean before the Winter Meetings conclude on Thursday.
