ESPN's Steve Phillips confirms the trade talks between the Pirates and the Indians. The Pirates would get catcher Kelly Shoppach and left-hander Cliff Lee.

There are whispers around baseball that the Pittsburgh Pirates, are in fact, looking to trade left fielder Jason Bay and they could be in serious talks with the Cleveland Indians, though there's no mention of what players could be involved.
If Pirate fans thought their team did everything they could not to put a competetive team on the field last season, there certainly not going to be happy with the Pirates' front office if they deal their All Star left fielder.
