According to San Diego Union Tribune's Tom Krasovic, if the Texas Rangers non-tender reliever Akinori Otsuka, the Padres could be a possible destination.
Otsuka spent the 2004 and 2005 season with San Diego before being traded to the Texas Rangers prior to the 2006 season for Adrian Gonzalez, Chris Young and Termell Sledge.
