According to Tom Krasovic of the San Diego Union Tribune, the Padres WILL NOT entertain the thought of trading Chase Headley as a part of this deal. He says both teams are still talking and the trade could still happen with other players being included.

According to Buster Olney of ESPN, the Padres and Pirates are discussing a deal that would have Jason Bay as the center piece. The players involved from the Pirates could be Jason Bay, Xavier Nady, Matt Morris, Nate McLouth and Ronny Paulino, a combination of probably 3 with Bay included.

The Padres could offer Michael Barrett and possibly top prospect Chase Headley, though Kevin Towers has turned down deals with Headley involved before. If the Padres can make this deal without Headley involved, they'll be much more inclined to pull the trigger.
As the details come down, we'll get them udpated.
